Sexist Monkeys
Researchers at Texas A&M gave a group of velvet monkeys some toys including trucks, dolls, and stuffed animals. The male monkeys ended up playing more with the trucks and balls, the female monkeys played more with the dolls and cooking pots, and they played the same amount with the stuffed animals and picture books.
I wish I had known about this in college since I once made a feminist classmate shoot steam out of her ears by suggesting that overall male humans had a slight tendency to be better at spatial reasoning and female humans had a slight tendency to be better at linguistic reasoning and that this difference may be biologically based. She became even more frustrated when the female professor of education who was teaching the class agreed with me. If I knew about this along with demonic males, then I suspect her head might have exploded with the disconnect.
Anyways, here is the article and you should read it because of the cute picture of the male monkey playing with a toy truck. At this rate I might need to add a new blog category just to deal with primate entries.
