Scion Part 2

Reader Dan tried to post this comment earlier about my new Scion XB:

Dude, Peter... pimp that biatch out and then go rolling on the West Side.

If you upgrade to an mp3 player, you can download books on mp3 from
audible.com instead. Theyz gots all kindz of shiznit, knowhatimsayin?

Holla!

I let Dan know that for certain reasons downloading mp3s is not a reasonable option for me at the present time, but may change in the future. I was wondering if the XB came with an mp3 player or if it had a jack for one and I read through the brochure to figure this out. (It comes with a jack for your mp3 player, but you can pay extra to have an mp3 player permanently installed) Half of the big brochure is a normal car brochure for people like me. The other half is all about hip-hop and how the Scion can be the ultimate tricked out hip hop car with pictures of playas from around the world and how hip hop is universal. This includes graffiti art and even talks about Easter eggs built into the car stereo.

For those of you who do not know, Easter eggs are fun secrets programmers put into things like video games and DVDs for users to discover. The idea of are putting an Easter egg into a car is both mind blowingly pointless and brilliant at the same time. I doubt anyone has ever done it before because it serves less practical purpose than even LED lighted cup holders. But the people who they are trying to sell these cars to know what Easter eggs are and probably think they are a cool addition to the car. For the scion you mess with the stereo in certain ways and different messages will appear. After reading the brochure, I am thinking about activating the one that spells put Scion in Japanese on your stereo display screen.

Not because I need to, but because I can.
