Penguins

Yesterday I was bitten by a penguin. It was a small penguin that is used to being around people and it was not a real bite, just a friendly little bite on my fingers to see what they were. Still that is probably the only time I will be able to write that phrase.

When my parents visited me once, we drove through the exotic animal preserve at Natural Bridge Caverns (went through the cave too). We bought a couple bags of food to attract the wildlife. I was quite amused to see ostriches snapping at a woman's hair in the car in front of me.

The smartest animals, though, were the zerbras. Instead of following the cars and begging, they just set up their own stations at nicely spaced distances on the road and waited for you to come to them.

At one of these checkpoints, I held out a pellet of food and the frickin' zerbra reached its entire head into my car, stuck its mouth in my crotch and pulled out with the whole bag of food I had resting between my legs. It happened so quickly (and I'm not used to having zebras assaulting me) that I just sat there stunned while it happened and didn't know what to do.

So, yes. One time a zebra almost ate my balls.
