Clinton Fails Again
What is Bill Clinton's favorite country now that he is no longer president? Iran. He thinks it is a model of progressiveness and liberalism. Here is what Clinton said at Davos, "Iran today is, in a sense, the only country where progressive ideas enjoy a vast constituency. It is there that the ideas that I subscribe to are defended by a majority."
I wonder if Clinton knows that he and Lewinsky would have been beaten to death by the government for having an affair if they had been Iranians. That is how progressive the Iranian government is.
Clinton also had this to say, "Iran is the only country in the world that has now had six elections since the first election of President Khatami (in1997 ). (It is) the only one with elections, including the United States, including Israel, including you name it, where the liberals, or the progressives, have won two-thirds to 70 percent of the vote in six elections: Two for president; two for the Parliament, the Majlis; two for the mayoralties. In every single election, the guys I identify with got two-thirds to70 percent of the vote. There is no other country in the world I can say that about, certainly not my own."
I also wonder if Clinton knows that Iran's elections were a sham and that only Mullah approved candidates were allowed to run. He seems to identify a lot with murderous dictators who do not allow real democracy. I prefer George W. Bush style elections like what we saw recently in Iraq where the government allows everyone a voice.
The government of Iran hates America. It does not allow free elections. They have kidnapped and murdered Americans. If it had the chance to destroy the United States, it would. And Bill Clinton admires them.
