Last Rather Post for a while
This is the last post for a while in which I mention that Dan Rather should be fired. It looks like CBS is going to let him retire early next year after the election is over. One of the best descriptions of why Rather and several others at CHS should be fired comes from this collection of quotes found at the Media Research Center via LGF about how disgracefully and unprofessionally Rather and company have acted the past few weeks. Here is the post and here is what I think the most damning quote of the whole lot of them:
'A serious journalist cant run with a story without confirmation. Two sources at the absolute minimum....This is how your narrator made it through Watergate. If Id gone off half-cocked, if Id gotten my facts scrambled, if Id run with unconfirmed leads, Id be selling insurance right now.'
— Dan Rather in his 1994 memoir, The Camera Never Blinks Twice, page 97.
